Default Coming to Vegas, looking for place to camp

Hey guys, my two brothers and I will be heading to the Vegas area in early June from Iowa. I am looking for a place to camp somewhere around the strip/ Hoover Dam or Grand Canyon area. We normally stay at the KOA's, and are for the rest of the 12 day 4,500 mile trip but the owner of the Vegas KOA was rather rude and a bit of a jack*$$. Sooo was wondering if anyone could give me any places to check with. I appreciate any help that anyone has to offer.

Kinda hot to be camping in June around Vegas. Just rent rooms during the week when it's cheap.

Unfortunately we are coming thru on Friday, June 12th and leaving on Tuesday June 16th to continue on to California and Mexico. Thought about the hotel thing but not cheap and we will be pulling the Timeout campers anyway....

The Circus Circus has an RV area, but the RV rates area almost the same as the rooms.

There are other hotels that also have RV spots.

Don't need RV sights per say, we will all be on our Harley's with pull behind Timeout campers, which are fairly small. Looking for something along the lines of privately owned campgrounds, state parks etc.... Something similiar to a KOA would be great.

It will be hotter than billy2hells there in June. But, since you are bound and determined to camp, roll over to Laughlin. On the AZ side of the river is Davis Camp. Good shade and swimming in the ice cold Colorado river. It will still be hot there, maybe even hotter than Vegas.
You can cross the river and hang out in the casinos during the hottest part of the day.
They still have $2 beers at the Riverside and there are excellent meal deals if you shop around.
And btw, you can get rooms at the Plaza in downtown Vegas for around 25 bucks a night. They have good secure parking for your rigs on the top floor of the parking garage.
Good luck.

+1 on the Mt. Charleston suggestion. There are a couple of sites there, weather will be nice and you will see plenty of bikes coming up there during June as the local riders try to beat the heat.

++1 on Mt. Charleston, one of my favorite summertime, get away from the heat places to go. If you don't mind the heat, Valley of Fire State Park has a couple nice camp grounds and there is also a campground near Red Rock Canyon. Valley of Fire is a little way out of town to the north but its a nice ride and near Lake Mead. Red Rock is only about 25 mins or so to the strip and about 5min to Red Rock Hotel and Casino.

Was also going to recommend Davis camp. At the base of (DUH) Davis dam holding back lake Mohave.

There is also camping at Katherines on the lake side of the dam, but then you're about 5? miles further from the Laughlin casinos.

And of course some casinos have RV lodgeing. I know Riverside and Edgewater do, as well as the Avi further south of town.

Down river there is Needles marina and camp ground. They also have some sort of camp huts aval. Sleep 4 @ $75/night. Looks like camping is $35/night.

June will be hot, but plenty of cool water and A/C entertainment to enjoy in the Laughlin area. Not to mention a short ride to Lake Havasu to enjoy some of the boating sights
