Lack of vendors was amazing. Probably not even a third of what was there when the economy was up. The vendor area at the Avi Casino was probably down by 80% of what it was a few years ago. Custom bike builders were nowhere to be found compared to what used to be. Parking lots that were wall to wall were empty. But we still had fun. Rode to the dam and the new bridge. Did Vegas and the Mojave Desert ride back to Palm Springs with the wind at our backs. We'll do it again next year for the ride.
I know those guys. I wonder where I was? Oh yeah, had to get my bike from the Shotgun booth. I let one of our guys take all the photos this year. Here are my two favorites.
My buddy ran out of gas 50 miles from Vidal Junction on the 177. We didn't realize gas stations were so few and far between out there.
Then to add insult to injury, after we were able to get some gas from some friendly Jeepers, he drug his saddlebag down the road and wore a hole in it.
Yes, we had quite the weekend.
Here he is loaded up for the ride home with his new saddlebags.
I'm thinking I will pass on next year too. I also wanted to buy several items but didn't find what I was looking for. You had a decent hike to get to the shotgun booth for you bike from the edgewater.
