Default Anyone using an Airhawk seat cushion?

I am using a Sundowner seat on my PAS which was an improvement over the stock seat but after a recent 1,500 mile trip it looks like I may be in search of a different seat solution. Before I spend too much $$$ on a different seat I am thinking of trying an Airhawk. So, I'm just curious if anyone is using an Airhawk on your Pan America. If yes, which one are you using (i.e. Cruiser R Small, Dual Sport, etc.)?

In the past I have tried using other seat cushions (gel pads, Alaska sheepskin buttpad, etc.) but I have never tried an Airhawk.

Thanks!

i'm using a Airhawk Cruiser on my 2021. It fits pretty well and helps with the stock seat.

I use my Airhawk on longer rides, with that said I haven't found a need for it since switching to a Sundowner seat.

I have an AirHawk and love it.
If you get one, the key is, less is better.
Don't blow it up, just a puff of air and not much more, it may take a bit of experimentation to find the right amount.
You want it to almost feel like it has no air in at all.
Another thing to be aware of is altitude changes will cause the air to either expand, or contract.
The higher you climb, the air expands and the seat will begin to feel hard. Just reach behind your left cheek and let out a little air with the valve and you're back to a happy butt.
If altitude is decreasing, the air will contract and you'll need to put in a little more air.
Once you get it dialed in, You're golden.

What he said, but adding mine is under a sheepskin. I just slip it under the skin when I want it. I’ve used it since 2005 for touring on what ever bike I’m on, including an adventure touring Suzuki VStrom. If I’m riding more than 350 miles, or riding for days or weeks, that combo goes over my seat. It even makes my Harley hammock a world tourer.

I have the medium tourer size. Works on touring Harley, Vstrom, Sportster, airhead Beemer, Volusia, and others.

It has been to 44 states and 5 provinces and will ride to Alaska in July.

Yes, I’m a believer, well my *** is a believer.

I have an airhawk and also this thing from HD., which is actually a vented backrest pad. I will go from no pad, to the air hawk, to the HD pad, in between gas stops just to change things up. Both are easily stowable, and help with really long days, by changing pressure points. In the pic, the AH is completely deflated. As others said, doesn't take much air to make it usuable.However.....since I went with the sundowner, I haven't felt the need to use either.

I've used the airhawk style seats, Harley (Road Zeppelin - both manual and electric) and Danny Gray TourIST, and they've worked well as you can adjust as you're riding. Ultimately didn't work for me but for some it's a game changer.

For me the Sundowner has been fine for short rides but my butt was so sore after my recent 1,500 mile trip that I have had no desire to ride. I definitely need to try something different. Plus, I’m still not fond of the Sundowner pushing me forward towards the tank (doesn’t feel as bad as the stock seat).

I ground off some of the rear seat post supports to alleviate some of that. However, with my back, the most comfortable riding position for me, is stock risers and a slight lean forward. The very position most PA riders are trying to get away from.
