Default voltage at rest

OK, I haven't been on the bike for 5 days and it's just been sitting in the garage-no tender. So, just for ***** and giggles, since I'm gonna be gone for another 6 days, thought I would check the voltage at the SAE battery tender plug and recheck it when I get back. FWIW, I have no starting issues except an occasional screech. My multimeter read 15.1V. can that be true? I have checked it before and it's always read 12.9-13.1V. has my meter taken a dump or???

Mine reads 12.9-13V after starting and running at idle then shut down for 30 minutes. Also 2-3 days after a ride. I cooked it with a smart CTEK charger when new. Other new H-D batteries I've had that were not preformed at 14.4-14.6V and only run on the bike's alternator would stay around 12.5, and then drop to the low 12's/upper 11's on starting and shortly thereafter.

Go check the voltage on your other road vehicles. If they are 15V get a new meter

Mine runs around 12.2V with the bike off. But then I have known charging issues and the bike is due to go into the shop to be looked at.

Have a read below about AGM charger/maintainers and batteries. Page through them and note the state of charge and recommended charging models, rates, and voltages. Quite different than our PA's with a 14-14.1V system. It may be that part of the initial running issues owners experienced was or is due to their system under charging the battery. Then under load the battery voltage falls below a critical threshold and glitches start.
