Default 64 PAN CARB Problems

64 Pan M74 linkert , runs good on high end . When I come to a stop and it idles down its drops to one cylinder and back fires . Have tried plugs , points , condensor and plug wires . What else should I look at besides carb and what in carb should I look for if this seems to be part of the problem ? Dick

Look for a possiblemanifold leak on the cylinder that quits firing.

Also, if this is a single points ignition, move the plug wires from one plug to the other (only at the spark plug end). If the missing cylinder moves, chck the coil, and recheck the plug wires. If it doesn't move, the manifold leak is a likely culprit.

Adjust the midrange jet....you start at 7 clicks then lean it out one click at a time.....its the adjustable L handle. You have to get the high speed adjusted first then the mid range.

Sometimes they just won't take a rebuild any longer. Shine it up and make a classy paperweight!
