Default 52 Case Repairs

Did a search and could not find any information for case repairs. I ran across set of 52 cases that have what I would consider a significant through wall crack: left side from top of rear cylinder downward about 3" and then to the front of the case. I have been told they are repairable however, I cannot find anybody online that advertises performing this type of repair. The cases were thrown in on another deal so if unrepairable I am not really losing anything. Do any of you know someone who performs these types of repairs? They are a matched set of cases hence the desire to have repaired versus replacing the left case.

You need someone who specializes in aluminum welding using TIG. The main issue is getting all the oil out of the crack inside & out. Would probably need to be welded on both sides and machined down, then dye penetrate tested.

Found these folks on the west coast (have a 49 left case w/ good numbers that needs fixing). Talked to them over the phone. Seems like they definitely know what they are doing.

Might also call the 74 Shop. He works on a nd restores HD to AMCA standards. He is on your side of the country. If you do contact him and he has a source please post it.
