Picture below. No room to make line on rear side line. Less than 1/2” of gap.

Why not a 90 degree elbow fitting?

I gave up on changing carbs on my 65 years ago mostly due to the oil lines. As far as the manifold seals I remember using a piece of bicycle inner tube over the seals. Haven't messed with that in years.

i apologize for all my newbie questions but I do not have a lot of experience (obviously) with working on bikes. I have messed around with cars but mainly just a parts changer but I am not a true wrench. I got the 65 running again yesterday but am still having issues with the Linkert. I have decided to install the new S&S I have however, as mentioned above the outside oil lines hit the carb body. Some folks mentioned building the lines. This is where I need help. What is the size and thread type of fittings and tubing? Has anyone on here done this modification and can provides some insight?

Has the Linkert ever seen a rebuild. There are a couple of places that will completely go thru the carb and basically make it like new again. It will also be cheaper than a new S&S e-carb

I attempted a rebuild but obviously didn't work. I have a guy nearby that will rebuild it for $100 plus parts. However, I am not sure I have the skill, time or patience to continually mess with the linkert. I understand I will be working on the bike regularly just like to take the carb out of the picture. I have already bought the S&S which I put on and then pulled off due to the oil line issue I am trying to resolve now. I have also purchased all the parts to make the throttle cable work with S&S.
