My pedal on the 66 looks the same. I wonder if the master is wrong.

It had an OEM master cylinder that hadn't been used in so long that it was destroyed. I never looked at the hole in the piston. The plunger was rotted from brake fluid. I believe the pedal is '59 and later, as it looks like the one one my '68, and my wife's '65. Still wondering if I can find out the diameter of the plunger without disassembling anything else. Would also like to find out if the hole in the master cylinder piston is big (7/16") or small like the one in the pic.

I’m not sure which pedal you have but at least it sounds like you’re aware there was more than one type. But what about your mounting bracket? First bracket below was apparently for late-59–69.

Interesting and informative reply. Just by eyeball, it appears that the difference between the 2 is the location of the pedal stud, which makes a difference. The 1st one would locate the pedal higher up, which would, to a certain extent, take the angle out of the plunger coming out of the master cylinder. From what I've read, the only difference in the pedal is the location of the "bend", or offset, so that the pedal would clear the cam chest cover. I don't know whether the clevis pin hole location is different between the 2. Unless I can find a bracket like the first one, I guess I'll end up turning the plunger down and opening up the hole in the piston that receives the plunger. Thanks for taking the time to show me the differences.
