So, a couple question about front fork springs if I may.
1. Are Progressive Fork Springs worth the money.
2. If so, they come with a spacer. How do I know how long to cut the spacer for the proper application for my front end? Keep in mind I am running a 49 hack to go with it it.
And took a little break from putting the 65 back together and got some of the front end on the 49 FL.
Have the AMCA Dixon swap meet coming up in a month, so I'll look for some handlebars that won't be all f'd up and that I can restore.
I look at the Progressive fork springs for my later FLH but ultimately did not use them as mine checked out ok. When looking at them, the only mention of the spacer is to " Cut the included spacer to length indicated." I guess the actual instructions that give the length are in the box.

I have found many 49', 50' unreinforced handlebars. Every one of them cracked. I bought three so I could play with them. I repaired two by cutting and inserting a sleeve and re-welding. I had two of them chromed. I am using one set but have another.
I had not decided what to do with them as I have so much money in the with the new chrome. Then @ Oley I found a bunch of early bars complete for about $1800 so maybe mine aren't too expensive repaired.

Yep...the ones on my 49 EL were that way. After repairs and re-chrome, I used the top clamp on them instead of the two individual ones.
