Default Linkert float pivot screw

I did a carburetor clean and rebuild on my M-75 Linkert. Everything went fine and I can start and run the motor if I don't tighten down the float pivot screw. But if I put any torque at all on the pivot screw it holds up the float movement. Is there something that I'm missing? I followed the steps in the "genuine Harley Davidson" manual precisely and I referenced some youtube videos. I also tried using the old screw and not the one that came with the rebuild kit but that didn't help. So if anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated

I had the same problem with a repop kit so I reused the old pivot pin and and needle. Problem solved.

Do you have the float off center from the bowl, centered the edge will drag. Manual has a dimension, from memory 1/8" but check the book, might be 1/16", good luck.

Seen this more times then i can count - we take the side screw with out the post and sand it own a bit — till when the lever moves freely when tight and does not bind - too much and the float walks around and the needle un seats and over fills the float bowl - slight is all you want
