Pulled the carb of my XL1200C, 2006.
I was going to remove the mixture screw and replace with a Yost.
It wont move, and the head of the screw is chewed up.
I have never touched this, and as I bought the bike from Harley with short shots fitted I can only imagine they have drilled to deep to remove the alloy plug.
The bike runs well, so im not to bothered at the moment.
How can I get the mixture screw out.
Im looking for another carb to rebuild as this seems the easy answer, the carbs seem pretty standard apart from needles and jets.
Anyone know of a way to remove a damaged screw.
You should be able to get it out with a screw extractor, available at your local tool store.
It's a reverse thread bit.
You might have to drill it out a bit more first, hopefully not.
