All you have to do is remove a small amount from the corner on the ratchet top. Only need enough for flat of the nut to clear.. Then all you have to do is remove the slotted screw that hold the speedo drive i place and remove the drive.. You can disassemble and assemble the connection easily outside and slip the drive gear back in. You can see on this bike someone had tried using a chisel to remove the nut.. I guess you need a new gasket but they are cheap..
