Arrow 1950 PanHead TT

.
Friend of mine is restoring a 1950 Panhead.
Extremely rare Factory TT machine.

Probably won't see many if any like this one.

He even has the Factory bluePrints for the magneto install.

A few pix I snapped today.

SK, it was *rough*.

Don't remember exactly,
but I believe he said it has taken 3 or 4 years so far
just to gather up the correct parts.
Lotta unique pieces were used on this one way back when,
then HD abandoned the developement on the big motor race project.

They were already dominating the tracks with the small FlatHead motor.

Here's a shot or two of the last restoration.

A 1954 KHK............

Jay, the 51s really seem to be a popular year model.

and then the 52, I grew up with the one pictured below.

as a teenager I rode a 64 XLCH, this was my brother's 52 Pan..........

Mud,

Thanks for the pics, and shared info on this beauty.

Looks like your friend has a garage that most would die for...

He is also putting out some super, super nicely restored bikes!

Is he in the business, or is it a hobby/passion? Regardless, I think I could find myself spending a lot of time in a place like that!

Thanks for sharing your old pics again too...

Nice to hear SK.
I will be updating with more pix as this restoration progresses.

I've known this guy for 40 years or so,
In about 1970 or so. he rebuilt my first SportSter motor.
cost was 250 bux. parts and labor for the top and bottom end.

Now, he only does motors and transmissions, shovelhead and back.
He wouldn't even think (maybe just a laugh) about touching a TwinCam.
Nothing rolls into the shop.
You bring the engine or trans in.

He does make exception for exceptional projects like the 54 KHK racer
and this 50 Pan Dirt Tracker. These come in in baskets, and roll out as shown above.

couple detail pix below of some of his personal machines.
I have more pix of these if you're interested........

yeah george old farts fuc*ks

sounds like you have a good one (the pan/shovel)
and have had some other nice machines as well.

My brother still has a pan/shovel that he originally built in about 70 or so.

that 23 cent fuel was nice....
tank up with 100 octane
pay with a dollar bill
and get change back

Post any pictures you have, I collect them for my screen savers.

Any pictures and or info on 50 panheads? I was supposed to go yesterday to look at
one but had to take wife to hospital to see her sister that is in there for cancer so
had to reschedule it for early next week or if she calls this weekend.
That and a 77 she is selling cheap.

Really nice pic's Thanks so much. I'm looking for accurate pictures of an original bone stock '72 superglide. Just bought one that has much of the original, stock bars with internal throttle, tanks, exhaust brackets etc. I've built some customs but want to restore this one. Seems everybody took em apart as soon as they got em.

Thanks for the interesting post. ANd nice pics, too.
Where is there any literature to support the existance of factory built
special 50's panheads? Would like to read same. The panhead cover bracket was not around in 1950 as far as I know. Actually first out in 1954 I think. So what is the guide for this project.
