I know that this was a bad move and I should have taken more care but, I have not used my pan for many years and I left gasoline (1/3 full) in my tanks. Above the gas line is light rust. What is a good way or perhaps a good product to clean out the rust and any residue in the tank? The old gas smells more of lacquer than gas and I would guess this would need to be cleaned out as well. How about the carburetor, what would be a good way to clean that out? Thanks again for all the help. Paneyes
Have used nuts and bolts plus either Acetone, MEK or Carb Cleaner. All seem to work well. Kinda a shake-rattle-roll-drain-n-dry.
As far as the carb, you need to take it off the bike and take it apart. Pay attention to holes and take jets out to make sure they are not plugged. Course, a lot of what you may have to do with the carb depends on the carb you are running.
