If you drove it off a cliff you will reach at least that speed. The 120 mph speedo's were wishful thinking. Around 90 would be top end. A shovelhead dresser had more horsepower and only had a 95 mph top end.

I run a 26 tooth sprocket on a 47 EL, an put a larger bore venturi in my linkert. I ran that bike to 110 against me buddy, he was on an 86 inch Shovel, both of us had our wives on back. I'll never forget the look on his face when I reached for the tank shifter to put it in high gear, he claims he got to 120 an topped out. I never looked back down at my speedo but he was falling back fast

He did too,when I rebuilt that motor he made sure he was there to see what was done inside Stone stock 47EL only .010 over pistons,26 tooth tranny sprocket and a Harley race venturi that was given to me at the Antique swap meet in Florida .
