Since It has a kick start, I'm making this a very vintage appearing bike with an Indian style leafspring front end, pogo seat conversion and a 39 Knuck paint scheme along with some panhead rocker covers. Should be confusing to onlookers.
I was hoping to convert to a hand shift as well but this conversion kit says it works with all 4 speed transmissions up to 1984 except softail.
Any reason I couldn't convert an 84 FXST to a hand shift? I would think any 4 speed could be converted.
I posted this in the transmission tech area but I may need help from the "oldtimers" on this one.
All that you showed from the ebay site was your linkage for a hand shift. You need to replace the shifter on top of your tranny to a hand shift as well. You can find more info if you google antiquecyclesupply, or J&P cycles, you will be able to do it, just remember left turns are a bitch.
