If you're going to ride a pan, ride a pan. If you're going to ride an evo, ride an evo. Can't have the look without the commitment.Only my opinion.

traveler I aggree with ironheads, you can get everything you want and not mess with the Korean stuff, your now allowed to buy a real Pan. You can find what you want on Ebay and just rebuild it. Youl have the real McCoy and it will run forever as long as you take care of it. The best part is you can find all the parts you need to do it.

S&S - Acurate - STD - Pandemonium etc. or an original, They are all motors that will last a lifetime if taken care of.
All are reliable when you take care of them.
If you want to do some hard riding - long days - highway speeds then the original Panhead may not be for you.
Newer motors deal with heat and wear better and can deal with the mistreatment.
Your bober/chopper sounds great . Build it your way and ride it.
I know your used to taking orders, but no one around here knows whats best for you.
Thanks for your commitment to our country, give "your" bike the same commitment.

kickstart pan, you see that pic of my bike in my avitar? I rode that thing to work every good morning when it started to get past 45 degrees out here and took it on long trips at 65mph. I make my own oil temp gauges for pans (you can buy one on ebay) and the highest temp I EVER saw was 240, and it was 98 degrees that day, I changed the oil and put 60wt in it instead of my usual 50wt. Normally it ran about 200-210 degrees when it is 80 degrees outside. You can run the freeway speeds all you want with an original engine, they did it all the time as I did. It just has to be built right. And mine was.
