64 FLH 12v conversion
I have a 64 FLH that I am restoring. I want to convert it to 12v but also want to keep the split fire distributor/circuit breaker. The problem is that I can only find the single coils in 6v. Anyone have any ideas? (Either where to find 12v single ignition coils or maybe a coil which is really two coils in one.)
I do know that Cycle Electric makes a drop in 12v generator with a regulator
built on and their is a battery spacer that I can use with a small 12v Yuasa
battery, so my only challenge is finding 12v coils.
Cheers,

My question would be what are you trying to gain --
the twin point dist as you have works with two coils the 6V ones were small but the cover was oversized so they fit under it / But triumph bike 1970s they have 12 volt copys of the old lucas ones they are small and made in germany
if you have a bike that original you will in deed take 5,000 in value away from it carving it up for some idea - back in the day when this stuff was dirt cheap we would just swap for a single point dist and use a box coil 12 volt and away you go --

You can just put in a ballast resistor in the wire to the coil, used to be in all the older cars so they didn't burn up the 6 volt coils and points with 12 volts.
Just get a generic one nothing fancy needed.

Here ya go. I did all the work for ya. lol. Looks Like Dyna DC10-1 coil set is what you need.

Gentlemen:
Thanks for your responses. My goal was two-fold: brighter lighting (for all lights),
and the ability to have the ease of a 12v electrical system (my oldest bike is a 1937
and though I have 6v chargers all over my garage, I've discovered most dealership
and even after-market shops do not!).
I like the idea of the dual coil from Old96. I appreciate the help!
