I've got this 6-speed Screamin Eagle gearbox which has a couple of dings in the chrome work. I am no particular fan of chrome, but I want it to look neat again.
What are my options? Could I perhaps sand and polish it? Powder coat it (black)? Or just leave it as it is. I know replacing the cover is an option as well, but I haven't found any yet (for a reasonable price). Thanks!

media blast for powder or media blast for polish and clear coat. for the second, chrome comes all the way off
third option is anodizing, comes in many colors now, i had it done on some forks decades ago and holding up well even with normal road wear.
