Default tins HD or aftermarket.

Im painting my 03 100th Anniversary road king. with all new tins. I have a OEM tank and side covers but still need front and rear fenders. Im looking at used ones but all seam to have dents or are almost the same as a new Harley one. The HD fenders are $400 each new. I see i can get aftermarket cheap but are they any good. I want OEM quality or better. no fitting crap. Can anyone recommend a aftermarket or should I stay with HD? thanks

I have used a lot of aftermarket fenders over the years on different projects. I try to stay with name brand parts and haven't had any issues. If you are going that route, make darn sure your test fit everything and drill any holes or make any modifications before it is painted. I had a Paucho gas tank that they had welded the gas bung on 1 1/2" to far back on the tank and it was hitting the motor mount. Looked fine out of the box but had to be sent back. Fenders are usually not a big deal. Just do your homework as to the right width or style you want. Good luck on your project.
