Default Powdercoat mirrors with glass in ??

I have an extra set of stock chrome Harley mirrors for my SGC. I want to black them out and was originally going to paint them. I was wondering if they can be powdercoated instead. Does anyone know if you can bake them with the glass still in ? Thanks for any help..

I don't think it will work. You have to bake powdercoat at 350. The mirror is attached to the base with adhesive which will melt at that temp.

yes sir you can coat them! we do them all the time... we first heat and remove the glass, coat the mirrors, the glue back in the glass... it is not the adhesive you have to worry about it is the actual mirror, it burns in back and on the edges with the heat... so we remove the glass before coating

Cool thanks Joe. I was actually going to PM you about it. Is it difficult to remove the glass ? Do you just heat it with a heat gun or something ? And lastly what kind of glue do you reccommend to put them back in ? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to do some DIY stuff during winter and I've never pc'd anything before. A buddy of mine has a gun and has done some other things but no mirrors. I appreciate the advice.
