I am considering using Colormania to paint my UltraClassic. Has anyone used them? Satisfied customers?
I was also thinking of having them supply the parts so I don't have to be down for a time while they do the paint - they ask for a hefty amount of $$ for refundable deposit - I have no issue paying this if they are reputable and will supply the same quality parts that they are getting in return...
Ok dont know what the name of his company is but here is my 2 cents!!! JRK is the man after 20 choppers built and one bagger an stumbling around dfw to find a good painter and powder coater i would say if the work looks half as good as the pictures thats the place i would go. if you are willing to send them off anyway and have the wait the company he works for or him is the place... I am getting ready to start a new scoot and he or they are going todo all the powder... Now having just done an advertiment for him i have never got anything done buy him noor do i work for him or his company or do i know him... Now having said all that ALL powder coaters here in DFW have told me two tones and multi coats CANT be done and then i look at JRKs work and find out that all the people here in DFW TX dont know what there talking about....
But like i said i have never got anything done by him noor do i know him i have just looked at a ton of his work and sorry i didnt have him do the work on my last scoot build!!!!
I have a Colormania paint job on my bike. I got it done in October of 2010 & it still looks fantastic. I used their metal exchange program. I'm pretty sure the gas tank I got from them is from a different year bike. My original was flat around the gas cap. The new one is raised. it doesn't really bother me but I could see someone else getting upset about it. I was told it would take about 3 weeks to get done but it actually took 6 weeks. I was given a small gift for my patience. I didn't want to rush them & then be unsatisfied with the result. I'd rather wait it out than get a rushed job. All said & done, I'm very happy with the quality of paint. I didn't do over the top but it's certainly a scheme that no one else has. Cory was very easy to work with & we spoke on the phone for about an hour designing the colors & discussing ideas. He really does seem to be very knowledgable.
Double the time they tell you it will take.
Do not expect any type of communications from the company unless you contact them once you pay
I was close to six weeks and told it would be 3. I had to contact them each time the due date came and went.
They shipped from a ups store and though everything appears ok, the items are not well packed and are in very cheap boxes.
They shipped the slowest method available. after taking twice as long as promised with the paint, I thought they might expedite shipping as a way of making things right, they didn't.
I did not receive any gift for the delay as others have mentioned. I did not ask for anything either.
The quality is great. The price fair. I am torn if I would use them again. They do offer a 5 year warranty.
I did the tin exchange and should have everything swapped out this week.
I wish you the best....
We shipped my wife's tins on March 14 and they should be here on Monday(05/21). But from the pics they sent..the quality seems really good and we saved about $600-$700 by using them instead of someone local..

So...anyone want to chime in here??
Shipping the front half of my Ultra off to Colormania next month....I have a Radical numbered paint set from Harley with multiple reflecting layers of paint which no one can match, and being Harleys first authorized radical paint shop, I was lucky to find them, and its also nice to know that they are familiar with my limited paint set which they have already duplicated twice....I'll post photos once the work is complete.
