Default Primary plug...

By chance has anyone changed from the plug? To a bolt with an O ring like the transmission and oil plug?
Had a lovely drip and am now on my forth or fifth plug, and yes I tried the silicone tape and it still dripped.
Just wanting to know if it seats properly

Thanks

`01 Dyna primary drain plug is a 739A, which is a tapered pipe plug.

There is no way to use a later model plug.

Has the plug been over tightened to the point there is now a small crack in the case?

Need to drain, clean the area real good with brake clean - etc.; then use an inspection mirror and a good light to look at the hole & threads for a hairline crack.

No crack.... But this is the forth plug... There has to be a bolt like on the tranny and oil that'll fit

Are you sure it's not an inner primary leak?

Positive, replaced the plug 2 weeks ago and zero droppage, sadly that f'ing plug bolt has cost me more than 4.95 which is what the dealership charged for the plug... For some reason three didn't come with the coating on the plug this last one did solved my leak..

Can't understand why O rings are used to seal the tranny and oil yet no O on the primary?

find a copper or brass drain plug washer that you can just thread on the plug by hand.(if its a little to small take a round chain saw file and file inside till you can) put it on till it touches the inside of the plug head then put on a new o ring. I have done this to my bike years ago and no leaks and never changed a o ring, washer does the sealing. will work on all 3 plugs.
