Default IDS Pictures - *Dial-up warning*

Here are some pictures I took while installing my IDS. Hopefully the dial-up folks can deal with the load on this. It took me about an hour and a half to do the install.

The stock pulley looks wider in this picture but it is the same width as the IDS pulley

Note the spacer installed in the center. It just drops into place

The bearing in the center of the pulley is the one that needs to be pressed in.

Thanks for the pics. Mine should behere any day. Never had my backwheel off but, doesn't look too bad.

You left both mufflers on?

Any otherinstall advice? I assume it's pretty obvious what spacergoes where and it all just slipsbackin? Someone emailed me the install instructions earlier and it sounds pretty straight forward.

Yeah, I left both mufflers on. I have two 36mm flat wrenches so there was no probem getting it loose or tight again. The left muffler was loose at the bag support and the bag support had the bolt out of the front and one out of the back with the second back one loose so the support could be push up out of the way. When you take the axel out, tap it over a little and then turn the adjustment tab so the tab part is up. Mine slide past the muffler with just a small push down on the muffler. The bigger of the two new spaces goes inside the IDS and the smaller one goes between the IDS and the frame, on the outside. It wasn't a hard install to do. Just follow the instructions and have your service manual handy. It took me about an hour and a half and some of that was spent cleaning the wheel before it was reinstalled. Good luck.

Excellent post !
Thanks for the pics. I bought mine in stock at Battlefield HD (Gettysburg Pa) for 198.00 + tax + 18.00 to press the bearing. They had it in stock and matched Zanottis who didn't have it when I called. Anyway...I'm installing in the AM & hope to post after a great weekend of riding !

It is a Kendon crusier lift - http://www.kendonusa.com/lift.htm . I shopped around and found it locally for $150 less then MSRP. Since it was local, I didn't have to pay shipping but I had to pay sales tax. So far I really like it. This one can lift 1000 lbs and can be used manually or with an air compressor. If I remember correctly, it raises the bike 32" total but can be locked into place at several other heights. I bought the frame jack and a side table to go with it. With the frame jack, you can lift the bike so the front or rear wheel can be taken off. This lift allows you go get right up next to the bike when you work on it. When I'm done with it, it stands on end next to the wall so it takes up very little space when it isn't being used.

Specifications:

Weight:
140 lbs

Standing Height:
70 inches

Capacity:
1000 lbs
Depth:
17 inches

Width:
28 inches

So the only spacer that goes between the sprocket and the swingarm is the thin spacer the original thick spacer is not reinstalled?
