Knocking Noise from Primary on Super Glide
Well to make this short. During my installation of the forward controls on my bike the clutch pack feel out and I had to reinstall it (dont ask how) So I adjusted it as best as I could bike seems fine, clutch could be better . Anyway after riding to Panama City Beach for the Ralley this weekend there seems to be a knocking noise from the primary case. Could the clutch not being properly adjusted cause this?? Besides this the bike runs great. Thanks in advance for any input.

First check the primary chain and make sure it is adjusted properly. Secondly check the crank nut on thecompensator to make sure it is torqued properly. Last check the clutch to make sure that it is tightened properly. I don't believe it is the clutch hub as you say the clutch functions.What year is your bike?? Did you use red loctite on the threads?? To adjust your clutch first back off the adjuster on the clutch cable, then loosen the nut in the center of your clutch hub, turn the allen screw in until you just feel resistance. Then turn the allen back out 1/2 to 1 turn. Hold the allen screw from turning and tighten the lock nut down. Now go back and tighten the cable until you have 1/8" clearance between the cable ferrule and the clutch handle/. Test ride the bike and enjoy.
