Default hard to find neutral

I had my bike in for warranty work , I had some teeth break in the ring gear and starter drive so they had to put a new clutch assembly in , I now find it hard to get the bike into neutral , it wants to jump into 2nd or back to 1st it takes several trys to get it in . Just wondering if itcould be the cable tension.

Sounds like it could be the clutch adjuster screw. That's in your primary. I found that a good adjustment is 1 1/4 tunrs out from snug.

My vote is for a loose P chain.

If the clutch seems to release rather close to the fully squeezed position, it is probably the clutch adjustment. You might be able to take up the slack at the cable adjustment. If not, the clutch will need adjusting. Make sure the bike is warm also, cold primary fluid will do the same thing. Ride it awhile, as a new clutch needs breaking in, and it may just be breaking in. If you are not happy, I think I would first call the dealer and allow them to fix it. Should not cost you a penny. Plus, if one of the techs is doing **** poor work, they need to know it!
