I keep looking at that, but am a bit leery of completely eliminating the compensator. Have you ridden it yet, how does it feel, both from the increase in useable torque, and from the engine impulse standpoint. Engine feel as smooth or any other observations? Is the gearing now too tall, I was thinking more along the lines of a 32 tooth sprocket but they dont make one.

34 tooth (stock)= final gearing of 2.79
32 tooth = final gearing of 2.97
30 tooth = final gearing of 3.15

There is another 300 rpm. You can feel the toque transfer, very slight vibration in lower gears (this is without IDS)but very smooth in 6th.Pulls hardin 6th at 60. Cruses 70-80 in good power band for my stocker.Lot more responsive in all gears, seeminglylot more torqe,HonestlyI love it...

I've heard that they are working on a 30 t comp sprocket and that it should be available soon.

Who are they? If it's Harley you'll never see it.

treeextractor: The Evolution site says 500 rpm increase. Did you varify the 300 with a tach on the bike. 300 I can live with but 500 makes me want to hold on to the 34 tooth. Forgot the formula for figuring this out with math. Anybody out there a walking calculator?

Latus HD calculatedat at300rpm . I am not sure how they calculated it but I believeit depends on the gear your in and 300rpm isthe calculation for 6th gear. I am running small tires too 190/50and this set upworks for me on my dyna. Most of my riding is at 60-65 mph in 6th gear. But it performs best perrs around 75mph with plentyof throtle tospare.

Don't know about the later models but the early model speedo reads from the counter shaft. Changing primary gearing did not effect the speedo; only changes in the secondary.
