Default Primary oil change

I just changed my primary oil today when I installed my new chrome outter cover. When I drained the old oil it was brown and looked just like engine oil. The bike shop that I bought my supplies from gave me BelRay transmission oil which is red. Was this the right oil??? I called the shop and they said it was, but I'm kind of skeptical. Thanks.

Yes, that is the correct oil.... If you had Redline, you would be using MTL, which is ATF as well (and it is Red as well)...

Thanks for the response. It looks like (in all of my wisdom) I stripped the threads of the crankcase today when I was draining the oil. The plug seems to be fine, but the actual threaded hole is what is stripped. Have any ideas on how to fix that?

Trying to figure out how you did that.......

Too much cranking on it, or cocked drain plug....

Did you completely pull the threads out of the pan???

Try to repair the threads first... If that fails, then you will need to go plus size on the plug...

I'm pretty sure it was a cocked plug. Not too bright...... I'll see what I can do with the threads first. Thanks again.

Which bike do you have? You didn't remove the plug in the crankcase did you?

Ohhhhh mannnn!!!! It gets even better. The plug's fine. The hole's fine. The crankcase is cracked. There's a hairline crack in the crankcase from the lip of the threads upwards... The bike is now at a shop where they're going to weld the crack and hole closed. I've changed the oil on hundreds of cars, but I've never had this much trouble..... Who would have thought that you could break the motor while changing the oil?????

I run a Revira Pro Clutch and they recommend Dexron III fluid in the Primary. Just an FYI.
