Primary Noise
Set out for a short run friday and after couple miles i noticed a louder than normal noise from the left side. Stopped to check and it sounded like the clutch was partially engaged, definatly a lot of clanging, whinning goin on. Vibration was pretty intense so i headed for the dealer. I asked the service tech to give it a listen and he says it sounds like the compensator nut is loose and recommended not to drive too far. So i ask when they can fix it and he says bring it in wednesday (today) and i could get it back maybe saturday. So i'm not real happy with the dealer but i'm concerned about a loose nut causing all that noise and vibration. Anybody have any input?

Update
Just picked bike up from dealer. Tech tells me a tooth on the clutch sprocket sheared off and had initially wedged behind front sprocket causing the squealing noise until it dropped out. I'm not a rocket scientist but that can't be a good thing. What would cause a tooth to break or shear off and has this happened to anybody else?
