Default Speedometer sensor

I am a new member and new owner looking for help. I have just purchased a 99 Ultra and the speedometer is not working. I went to local Harley dealer and picked up a new sensor ($60) just incase cleaning would not fix the problem. My delema is where the hell is the sensor, not in the same location as my buddies Herritage. Is it under the starter? I can not find it anywhere? Please help.

Thanks and sorry for the stupid newbie question.

Sometimes just removing and cleaning sensor is all it needs.Unless something marred the face of it.

Check the speedo connector. Many people have had problems with them working loose providing intermittent or no speedo. Clean and lube the connector and zip tie it together so that it can't work loose.
