I see these in catalogs all the time. Has anybody ever tried one? Are they worth the investment?

I haven't tred one on the street but allways wore one in the dirt.

Same here- but I do think a good backrest does tons for the ride-other than the scoot around town!

ALways used one in the dirt, guess thats why I ride an Ultra on the street.

I know a lot of people that do wear em, I never tried myself to see if its worth it.

For the effort, I don't want a kidney belt around me. I would rather have the seat back. Kidney belt is going to be hot, I have to take it on and off, then what do I do with it when I'm at where ever it is I'm going? Drape it over the gas tank? I say save the $40-60 it would cost to buy one, wait a few weeks and drop the $199 for a seat back. Then you'll be living!
