Default Lowering Front End

I've decided to lower the front end of my Screamin Eagle Roadglide 1 1/4 inch with the kit sold by Progressive (about $100). I've heard really good things about it (even one of the Sponsors of this Forum) and really like the look. I have several friends with lowered forks and rear shocks and they seem to like them. I've already lowered the rear 1 1/4 inch with a lowering kit and have no problems with bottoming out. I researched the kit prior to buying it and I love it.

My dealer sells the Progressive kits and says the install takes about 1 1/2 hour. I'll let you know how it turns out. It will probably be a couple of weeks before I have it finisher.

Anyone with one of these kits out there?

I would like to know how it goes. I bought a front lowering kit from progressive for my Sportster. And plan to put it on sometime next month. I also bought new shocks to lower the rear. Good Luck.

Terry, What lowering kit did you use for the rear and how did it effect the ride and handling? TIA

Art,

I bought a 1 1/4 lowering kit (brakets) From Solow Motorcycles on Ebay. Much cheaper than from Harley and very well made. The bike rides and handles much better than it did with the Harley Low Profile Shocks ($275.00). The kit was about $79.00. Very easy to install!

What ever came of this? I am planning to lower my Ultra (I'm 5'6" so desperately needed). I understand the rear lowering, but cannot find anything concerning the front end. Thanks.

Bill,

I ended up using the Progressive Springs and lowered my front end 1 1/4". I had already lowered my rear end 1 1/4" with the lowering kit mentioned above. Harley's front lowering kit only lowers it 1" and the Low Profile Shocks only lower your rear 3/4" and rides like a log wagon. I love the way the bike handles now.

Thanks for the update, Terry. And, by the way, nice ride.

Question for you: Did you do any of the work yourself or did you have a wrench do it for you? Any time estimates?

Thanks..Bill
