Default Burley 10.5" slammer shocks Road Glide

I have a 2013 Road Glide Custom. About 4 months ago or so I put on the Burley Slammer Shocks (10.5"). They lowered the bike 1 1/2" and I love the look and feel now. I am 5'7" and before I had a hard time reaching the ground flat footed and maneuvering the bike around in parking lots, etc. Now being flat footed it has been great and I don't worry nearly as much about the incline of my parking spaces and backing it in etc. The shocks are ok as far s the ride. On the freeways and streets it it fine and I have no pain after long rides or anything like that. However, I do feel the bumps more, and on pot holes and sewer grates that may not be flush it's a pretty big jolt. I didn't realize how bad until I rode my wife's bike the other day over the same sewer grates I ride over everyday and try to avoid mostly and didn't even feel them at all on her Softail Deluxe. With the Burly shocks it feels as if I am almost bottoming out. I don't believe I am, they are just not providing very much absorbency as other shocks. Again, just wanting to put my 2 cents out there for others who may want to buy some of the things I have. I don't regret the shocks, they were fairly inexpensive and the normal ride is fine and have helped tremendously on getting flat footed, so they were still worth it. I also shaved my seat foam on my own. A fairly simple (yet messy) process. Don't be afraid to do it. I did this recently (so I know the feeling of the shocks with and without a modified seat) and it also helped get me more flat footed. I cut about an inch off lowering the seat and then shaved quite a bit (almost to the plastic) on the inside thigh area and that has been awesome.
