Got up in the morning in Co Springs and it was about 50-60 degrees and light rain. Started to stay another day but after checking the weather, looked like rain for next 3 days so I decided to just leave and go ride up pikes peak. Once I got about half way up Peak and got through the clouds, the sun came out. I've never been that that high up and not in a plane. Highest Mt we have at home is around 6500 feet. Felt weird.
Going up and down Pikes Peak really made me miss the sport bike.
I'll have more up later. I cant remember how many miles I did on each day but it ranged from 250 miles on shortest day to 650 miles on the longest

From Pikes peak I took 24 to 285 to 50. It rained off and on most of the day and was pretty cold. The rain gear I packed did its job and was WELL worth the 100 bux or so. Up in the Mt passes on 50 the storms got pretty bad. There was nowhere to really go to get out of it so just kept riding trying to push to lower elevation. Once I was between the mt passes, it was pretty dry. Was going to try to make it to Montrose but I had shifter issues again (luckily between storms) and ended up staying in Gunnison Just as the hard rain set in for good. Ended up finding a good place to eat and just hung out there for the night.
Next day It was kind of off and on with rain but wasn't bad. Rode from Gunnison to Montrose then south on million dollar highway to Durango for the night. Was going to try to meet up with billnourse but by the time I made it into Durango It was pretty late.
Ouray, CO
Had a lot of fun on this road. Would like to go back again.
Between Ouray and Silverton. If I go back I'd like to walk down there and check this stuff out
Soon as I Left Silverton, this stuff started to fall and bounce off the pavement

From Durango, I wasn't sure where I was going. I was meeting a friend in Vegas the next night so I had 2 days to get there. I wanted to ride through Monument Valley again but the stupid gps i decided to use took me out on some bad roads after i left 4 corners and brought me out on the south side. Didn't want to back track and i was just there 6 months back so i skipped it and just went to Flagstaff.
When I got to Flagstaff I decided the weather was too nice to just sit around so I decided to just keep on going and make it to Vegas. (cheaper hotels too). Stayed in Vegas for the next 4 nights.
Came into Vegas right after dark, it was pretty cool to see lit up from miles away but my phone couldn't take pictures at night. Just looked like a black screen.
Great pics! Thanks for sharing what looks like an awesome trip!!
I know what you mean about coming into Vegas in the dark. First time there I drove in that way....awesome !
