Well,
The bucket list trip has begun.
7 Bikes were shipped from Orange County CA to Chicago last week. 2 bikes, 3 people and a 20 ' enclosed trailer left for Chicago on Wednesday. Trailer already had a brake problem on the road and had to be repaired on the side of the road.
Total on this trip of a lifetime is 9 Harley's and 16 people.
I am the first of 16 to arrive in Chicago today. Bikes were dropped off at a friends warehouse on Thursday. All made the trip safely.
We are going to ride the entire Route 66 over the next 2 weeks, stopping at every interesting or odd attraction along the way.
We will spend the night in the following cities:
chicago IL
Springfield IL
Springfield MO
Tulsa OK
Edmond OK
Amarillo TX
Santa Fe NM
Winslow AZ
Kingman AZ
Laughlin NV
Ending in Santa Monica CA on the pier and will take a ride on the roller coaster
For some reason I can only upload one pic at a time from the iPod. Hope this does not get annoying for you.
I will try to post pics and comments along the way.
Doug

2 years in the planning of this trip and it is finally here.
Everyone should be here this evening, we will pick bikes up tomorrow morning and head out on this " ride of a lifetime" on Monday.
About 20 miles west of Amarillo is the "town" of Adrian. Stop here for a photo at the marker of the midpoint of Rt 66. The park in the middle of Downtown Winslow is a good place to get Standing on a corner in Winslow AZ photos. I will be just ahead of you in a Penske moving truck headed for San Jose with my nephews stuff. Ride Safe
