Default 5 Days in Vegas

Need some help, we have a group of 10 of us heading to Las Vegas from October 17 - 23. We have all rented Harley's for the week and unfortunately don't know the best routes to ride. We would prefer to do round trips since we have already paid for our hotel. The majority of us have never been out west so the best bang for the buck would be great. We are all experienced riders and have no problem riding all day.

If anyone knows of any great rides let me know. I have been tasked with getting our week planned.

Thanks for any suggestions.

IMO, Las Vegas is not a very good hub for seeing the best of the west. It's too far for relaxing day trips. For example, from Vegas to Mt. Carmel Junction, UT which will take you through Zion NP is 184 miles, one way and most of it is boring Interstate. Don't get me wrong, you should still have a great trip but again, IMO, it's just not a good hub.

You can ride out to Hoover Dam which is certainly a site to see, but again it's a crowded, boring ride out there and back. You can also ride up to Death Valley, but north and west of there is prettier if you ride through the NP's of California. But they're too far for a good day trip.

Best of luck.

Ride to Chloride, AZ. A genuine from the 1800's working mine town. Complete with all the relics of the past. You leave LV in the morning and can be back at your hotel in the late afternoon.

Valley of Fire State Park is a nice day trip. If you go be sure to stop at Mouses Tank and hike back into the narrow canyon. The ancient petroglyphs on the rock canyon walls are really incredible.

A day trip to Laughlin, Nv. hang out and relax on the Riverwalk for a couple of hours.

Definitely go to one hour north to Valley Of Fire and hit all of the side roads throughout the park. When you exit the park take 167 back to Vegas. While in Vegas find one of the Robertos Taco Shop locations and get a Carne Asada Burrito.

My wife and I did a trip to Vegas for my 50th, we stayed in Vegas and rented a bike from Eaglerider rode 1500 miles in 4 days. We did a trip to the Grand Canyon during those days left in the morning came back that night. Some great riding in the area, Valley of Fire was awesome, Hoover, Lake Mead. The people at Eaglerider where very helpful we rented a GPS from them and they preloaded it with some of their favorite rides. They picked us up at the hotel and took us to the bike and when we returned it they returned us to the hotel. Can't wait to do it again.

In no particular order but some 1 day decent rides;
1) Valley of Fire/Lake Shore Dr, can include Gunlock & St George, Ut
2) Red Rock Ntnl Park
3) Chloride, Oatman, Az (Rt 66), Laughlin or through Kingman to Hualapai Mtn
4) Death Valley (via Shoshone, Ca - Beatty, Nv)

btw: Looks Like rain likely (

We just got back from Vegas Bikefest last week, Red Rock Canyon is not far out of town and worth the ride, after that head up to the Mountain Springs Saloon on HWY 160, cool bar that caters to bikers at 5500 foot elevation.

Also Mt. Charleston and the Valley of Fire are easy out and back rides.

Had one of the best buffalo burgers ever at a little ghost town called Bonnie Springs out by Red Rock Canyon. The town itself is just a tourist trap but the little bar awesome burgers. We did stay at the Luxor because it is on the end of the strip that way we didn't have to deal with alot of the stop and go traffic.
