The wife and I along with our friends are heading out the first weekend in June to ride the Natchez Trace up to Nashville. Then we're heading over to the Smokies for four days and then heading back home. We'll probably do a couple weekend trips through the summer, visit my son in San Antonio and her relatives in north Arkansas maybe. I'm eager to put some miles on the new Ultra!

Current plan which is subject to change is ride from North Carolina through Arkansas (never been there) over to Oklahoma then up to Kansas then west through Colorado and Utah. North from Utah into Idaho where I plan to take at least two days to get ride there, then ride over to Washington and then take a day or two in Oregon before the big birthday party.

I'll hang at the in-laws for 3 or 4 days and then head for home on the shortest and fastest route. 16 days round trip and at least 4 days riding around Idaho, Washington and Oregon. I figure it will be about 8,000 miles total.

We are heading west to Durango, CO.

Plans are to stay a week and ride.

Then we will head to Lincoln NE to the International Thespian Festival and see our local HS do a play in the main venue (a big deal for them).

Then we plan on meandering our way back to home, Arab, AL.

I rode to Cody a couple of years ago and ended up staying longer than I had planned. A great little town with lots to see and do. Well worth the trip.

What ferry? There isn't one if you are already in Quebec.

Planning a trip from Va to at least Yellowstone maybe to the coast. Still putting it together. Wanted to do it last year but was hit and bike was a loss. Down for 4 months thinking about going the RV route. Saw a really nice Ultra limited and pulled the trigger. So back to one more adventure. Anyone that has done this I would love any info or advice you might have. Thinking of leaving sometime in May.

Silent,

Sounds like you and I were both influenced by those WV posts.

My plans include:

Trip to Niagra
Trip to York and through Penn Dutch country
Trip through mid (west of 81) PA for a day, couple days touring WV then over to Mount Airy/Blueridge and on to Maggie for three days or so touring new stuff plus another visit to WTT, over to Barber AL and on to Natchez for a bit then up the Trace and up through KY and back into WV for another couple days, more PA and then home
Trip through NB and out to Cabot trail and maybe PEI.
Toying with a trip like Cheesehead listed but not sure if I can plan all that without overwhelming my poor brain with a scenic boner
Our typical 2-4 day NE/Adirondack tours

Laid off at present so this is the time to get some (well soon to get some, Feb isn't the best time for touring :-) )
Well, with 2016 coming to a close (just washed my last bike and putting it in the garage for the year today) figured it might be interesting to see how folks did with their trip plans. For my part, the following were completed:

Niagra was great (Canadian side is the place to be). Rode various portions of the Adirondack mid southern area on return.

York Factory Tour was excellent and Geezer's recommendation for the PA/PA dutch country was great. Also toured Hershey which was interesting and was base for York visit. Added in some south NY state to Lake George on this one to round out a week

The large trip through NY state and through mid west/west PA and onward (both directions again using Geezer and other's inputs) was great. Saw the PA grand canyon, 144 and 44, Route 6 etc etc. Spent 2.5 days in WVA. Definitely have got to return there -- we followed (for the most part) http://www.ridingwv.com/RidingRoutes.htm ride Trip 1A and 1B starting from Cumberland MY. Headed over to Fancy Gap and a couple days in Little Switzerland, then three riding out of Maggie. Had to kill the Barbar/Natchez portion due to family stuff but it was a great two weeks of riding.

We used the Atlanticade tour book to ride some recommended tours of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and a couple tours including Cabot trail in Cape Breton. We didn't even scratch the surface (here we were thinking we would get PEI in and maybe spend a couple days in Bar Harbor, all in 8 days, no way with all the stuff to see but still rode 2200 miles on this one) We will be heading back up there this coming year for sure)

Rode the Catskills area for a five day run along with Hawks Nest ride into Mattamorris and a ride to Highpoint NJ.

Many 2-4 day tours in VT, upper NH, Adirondacks

No tour like Cheesehead's though :-)

All in all we did pretty well against our plan from last winter. Hope you all had similar success.

Happy Holidays to all of you!!!

Dave
