2016 Trips
1) Depart South Texas and cut over to part of the Hill Country then North to Sturgis. Not going during the rally. I am going for the riding not to stumble around with 500K drunks. Across to Cody, WY, Yellowstone, Beartooth, and north to St. Mary, MT.
2) Through Glacier National Park assuming it's open (I lived in Kalispel years ago), across western MT, ID, the southeast corner of Washington near Spokane then down into Oregon and across to Newport, OR.
3)South from Newport, OR past Eureka, CA then east towards Lassic Volcanic NP. On to Lake Tahoe, Virginia City, then Reno. Mother lives near Reno where I will send about a week. From Reno east across Utah and into Colorado. Lot's of Colorado riding then south thru the Navajo reservation and down the Coronado Trail in AZ.

Wife and I have done exactly that the past couple years and all was good but plan for some dampness especially at higher elevation. Fog in the AM was the norm every day but two on the first trip.
Silent,
Sounds like you and I were both influenced by those WV posts.
My plans include:
Trip to Niagra
Trip to York and through Penn Dutch country
Trip through mid (west of 81) PA for a day, couple days touring WV then over to Mount Airy/Blueridge and on to Maggie for three days or so touring new stuff plus another visit to WTT, over to Barber AL and on to Natchez for a bit then up the Trace and up through KY and back into WV for another couple days, more PA and then home
Trip through NB and out to Cabot trail and maybe PEI.
Toying with a trip like Cheesehead listed but not sure if I can plan all that without overwhelming my poor brain with a scenic boner
Our typical 2-4 day NE/Adirondack tours
Laid off at present so this is the time to get some (well soon to get some, Feb isn't the best time for touring :-) )
Normally I like doing Maggie Valley and the NC/TN area (which I can't get enough of), but I think I want to try someplace new this year.

- Feb. 12-March 3 - Ireland - Hill walking by day and drinking pints with my friends at night, rinse, repeat...(I do this trip 1-2 times per year as my internal supply of GOOD Guinness starts to be depleted...LOL)
- Laconia Bike Week, NH - at my place in the white mountains nearby, rinse, repeat...
- Atlanticade Bike Rally, Moncton, NB, Canada - Fun rally, go every year, then hit PEI and/or Nova Scotia for a few days. No deer or moose on PEI!
working on plans for sturgis and out west, but building a new house so it might pinch me this year...more to follow
Ride safe...
