Well I gotta tell ya,
I've gone 5 years in a row to Tennessee and spend alot time in Michigan . Our dollar (canadian)has just dumped. Pushing a buck fifty. Our problem not yours .
If you live near our border come on over and enjoy..... you'll double your money..
I'll sit back and wait until I can enjoy your wonderful country again.

Bought a new 2015 SGS last fall. Hope to ride it around Lake Superior this summer.

Have 3 tentative longer (7-10days) trips planned or still planning. Will do 2 of the 3 probably and then a couple weekenders around Colorado/Utah/NM.

#1: PNW trip. My folks are working their way up to Alaska in May/June and will be heading up the PCH. If timelines work out I will ride 50 across Nevada, swing around Tahoe, visit Yosemite and meet them somewhere around Eureka, CA and continue along with them to Crater Lake, Portland, into Washington for Rainier, Olympic, Seattle, and Vancouver. Then part ways with them as they head to AK and I'll head to the Cascades and then on to Glacier NP before making my way back home.

#2: Monument Valley-Grand Canyon-Arizona and NM cliff dwellings loop. Still planning the exact route and details of this one but the plan would be to see Arizona, specifically the Flagstaff and Phoenix areas and hit up Devils Highway 666 before making my way back through New Mexico. There are still a handful of National Park sites in NM I haven't "collected" and enjoyed, yet. This trip will either be in late May/early June and replace the PNW trip, or it will be early September.

#3: Midwest-Da UP loop. My fiance always heads to his family's cabin in the UP for a couple weeks every August. The plan is to head out from Denver and camp for the night in Badlands NP and then head to Minneapolis to see one of my best friends, then to Milwaukee to see the HD Museum et al, and then head north to the UP and meet up with him at the cabin. Then he and I would spend a couple days riding around Lake Superior. After dropping him back at the cabin, I'll head east and cross the Mackinac bridge and follow along the coast of Lake Michigan to Chicago to see some college friends and make my way home via Iowa (never been) and Nebraska.

With fatherhood fast approaching, I probably only have this summer and next to do long trips on the motorcycle. Once kids are in the equation, any long road trips will probably have to be with a toy-hauler :-/

Watch the WX. This is Crater Lake in June

I left CO in early June 2008 and encountered snow and/or cold all the way to the coast (Eureka CA) and all the way up the coast to Cape Flattery and across WA to MT. Yellowstone was closed on the way out and Glacier was closed on the way back.

Hi, guy's , question, want to use Maggie Valley as a central point for a September trip , but we don't want to go when it;s bike week or car shows or any rally's going on , while there just want to ride and enjoy the scenery there . going around the 8th to about 22nd time frame . Afraid to go much later as it get's cold in the Mountains . I made a wide time frame as we are going for 10-12 day's . Going to pull bikes down in trailer and bring motorhome any help would be great . Thanks, Don Cross
