I know the rally is aug. 8 to 14. but im wondering when the vendors set up?
meaning if im down for the week of aug 1st to 6th will there be vendors and stuff going on already? do they set up early for the early arrivers?
coming down in aug. but will likely be the first week in aug. and before the 8th. hoping there are vendors and sights to see prior to the rally.
I spent two weeks at the rally last year and yes, vendors are set up the week before. It was the 75th, so I'm sure everyone expected the huge crowds, but even in an off year there are plenty of things to do and see. Concerts aren't as plentiful the week before though.
There will be vendors set up the week before. You can't possibly visit them all anyway, so you should be able to get what you want. Roads won't be as crowded, but like 01dyna said, the entertainment venues may not be up to speed. Next time I go, I'll do what I usually do - go the week before, stay through the 1st weekend, then head home.
