Looking for route assistance, Sault St Marie to Mass
Hi guys,
I'll be taking a road trip in a couple of weeks, heading from Mass. to Milwaukee, WI. I have the trip THERE all planned out. As for heading home, the first day will be a ride north from Milwaukee to the UP in Michigan, spending the night in Sault St. Marie. After that I'd like to slide east through Ontario and eventually make my way back home. Looking at Google maps there are several ways to do this, so looking for advice...
You might want to reconsider going from Milwaukee all the way to Sault St Marie in one day. It is a long distance and it is all 2 lane road with a lot of small towns. Just my $.02 worth.
Love to know your ride plan out to Milwaukee if you don't mind sharing?
Thanks
Dave
Sure thing
Day 1 leaving Bridgewater, MA and ending in London, Ontario. All highway but has to be done since we only have a week. Rte 90 all the way to Niagara and crossing somewhere into Ontario (I don't have my .gpx files with me at work).
Day 2 will be a shorter mileage day, leaving London and heading straight across Michigan to Muskegon to take the later ferry crossing to Milwaukee. Hotel is a few mins from the terminal.
Will spend several days in Milwaukee, doing the Museum thing as well as checking out a couple dealerships. Was going to go to the Powertrain Operations but just checked and the tours are suspended until August this year due to plant enhancements. They offer a video tour in its place. Will probably skip that.
I was born in Wisconsin and lived for a few years in Milwaukee as well as a couple of surrounding towns. I plan on riding to the addresses provided by my mother. I sort of/kind of remember a couple of them.
I was in Bridgewater Yesterday! Too lousy to ride there though. I'm back in Jersey now.
There is a dealership (Milwaukee HD?) That used to have a Strip Joint attached. I went in 08 for Harleys 103rd B-Day.
I plan on the same trip leaving from RI !! leaving thru up state NY thru Niagara Falls to Toronto then following top of the Great Lakes then dropping down over the Mac bridge. A few nights in Milwaukee then back East thru the big city's . Luckily I have lots of time planning on 20 days so I make many stops

from milwaukee to marinette. wi. is about 160 miles of 4 lane.
