Trailering clogs up roads and causes safety issues throughout the area. There are 51 other weeks in the year to visit the black hills, why try ruining the experience for other riders? It is not that hard to ride and you will appreciate the experience much more. If you're wife is not into riding long distances, buy her a ticket and pick her up at the airport when you arrive. Trust me, you will have a much better experience riding.
Last year I road my bike from New Orleans to Sturgis, loved every minute of it. Buy if my wife was to go with me, I would trailer the bike. She likes to ride but can only go a couple hours at a time.

That's totally it for me. I actually don't care a lot for the gathering. A couple of days and I'm good. But I usually make this into a two week ride and Sturgis is only the nominal destination. The rest of the ride often goes through any number of national parks in the West. Each day is a joy, including the few actually in Sturgis.

What he said. There is so much more in the area to the west. I'm hitting Sturgis on the way home. Just hit Iron Mountain and Deadwood and I'm good. I'll be coming from the Road to the Sun into Sturgis.

Last year I spent two days in Sturgis then did Yellowstone and the Tetons. Will do the same thing this year. Its all about the ride: Get a t-shirt, a hat, a pin look at the girls have a beer and hit the road. This will be my 8th time. And I just got back from a 4000 mile trip to Washington DC on the Run for the Wall

Have never, ever trailered any of my scoots. However, everyone does have the option of blowing off Sturgis during Trailer Week. Thought it'd have turned into Mobility Scooter Week by now. =8^)

I agree, seems like there were a lot more three wheelers than usual. Being only 350 miles away I've been going since 1978.

I did that twice once for Daytona and once for Sturgis. It was great to have a base camp and have a bunk at night. No one else cares what you do. Half the campgrounds was in trailers up to million dollar motorhomes.

I rode 7 times was going to ride again this year, but just cancelled my 3 days in Deadwood and booked Glenco Rv park for two weeks. Just about the same money
now I can ride for two weeks in Sturgis and every direction from there. I guess I will have to burn my "I Rode Mine to Trailer Week at Sturgis" T-Shirt
