Looking to do 4 day ride around Easter weekend: from salt lake city to Moab, monument valley, back up thru escalante to slc.
Anyone know what the weather is usually like?
Any suggestions?
Easter weekend is the Moab Jeep safari and car show. The area will be packed and rooms have been booked for months now. Its the best time of year for southern Utah! cold after sundown and warm during the day..
I have seen it snow from SLC to Green river Ut and t shirt by the time you hit Moab. Their has been much more snow here this year so far.
The southern part of Utah should be fine. Mountain passes/higher elevations could be snow-packed or closed to traffic. I'm from Salt Lake City originally and remember seeing it snow as late as Memorial Day. Watch the weather forecasts for the area and act accordingly.
Lived in PC and traveled south after February. Moab is usually hot, Monument Valley is hot, Bryce is cool with some snow (see YouTube video of motorcycle snow camping in Bryce https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xlHFUveWfsM it's me). April Moab park will be filled but camping along the river is beautiful. Always camp at Monument Valley where the people are nice. Escalante ridge is a site to see.
