I'm planning a road trip to Milwaukee, WI. I've been there many many times, so I already know where I can get into mischief once I'm there. I'm planning to take US 41 from Nashville up to Chicago, and Terre Haute looks like a good place to stop, probably early afternoon, and spend the evening.
What, if anything, is interesting to do in Terre Haute? Mostly, I'm looking for places with good food, cold beer, and fun.

When are you planning on leaving? I ask because I'm headed out the same way come 6/14/07 or 6/15/07. I'm leaving Clarksville, Tn headed up 41 through TH and then picking up 24 over to peoria, IL. Let me know something we might ride out together if you don't mind.

Lived there for 30 years, gone 25 years, BORING, really have no suggestions, only hotels are at I 70 & 13th street, its really a pretty depressing place. But enjoy the ride.

You forgot about that nasty smell that Terre Haute is famous for. Kleptz's restaurant is about the best for great food and cold beer. It's just east of Terre Haute on US 40 about 2-3 miles in Seelyville. The drag strip is about the only interesting thing in town, unless your looking for adult entertainment. hehe
