First off, I'll second the watch your speed comment... they seem to make good use of the revenue producing capability of this road.....

I have run the whole length of this road and it's in good shape, low traffic and quite lovely..... for a few miles...... I got REALLY bored..... unlike the Blueridge and other similar roads, the vistas aren't widely changing ones.... dropped blindfolded into any particular stretch of it, and you probably wouldn't know where you are....it's all pretty much the same and not that exciting........ now, there are many different east and west excursions from this road that can provide more challenging riding and interesting places to stay, water the horses, and eat, etc. I would recommend to either allow a lot of time to take the side trips or just blast the length of it, (with prudent speed of course), just to say you've done it....... There's a lot of history to be seen. Some parts are very interesting, like the camps. Watch for bicycles- and small critters. We rode it from north end to south, then followed the Mississippi all the way down to NO, on small roads, like 15 on the LA side. Not a good trip for folks just "wanting to get there"

This^^^!! Last Sept we jumped on it outside Tupelo and headed south. We got bored and jumped off after about 50 miles. If you are expecting it to be like the Blue Ridge, it ain't....

My dad and I ran it from north to south without any hiccups. In Natchez, we were asked if we watched our speed and I told her for the most part we did. She told us it was $100 per mile an hour over the speed limit. 😳 They would have had to lock me up. Lol... We ran about 60. So, watch your speed.

it is the history stops that make it. The road and trail has been there for years, like pre american. Mounds, natural stops, I forget what they call the taverns or stop over spots. Lots of points....

50 mph patrolled by rangers.

Southern end side trips. Longwood in Natchez, Windsor ruins (been in several movies) Port Gibson, Vicksburg battlefield

Nice history and road, glad we rode it. Unlike other rides which has "Sweepers" the trace has "Sleepers."

A lot of historical stops along the way. All kind of cool sites on and off the trace the closer you get to Natchez

Definitely watch your speed. The LEO are federal officers and don't play.

Nice long quiet ride ... like previous poster said can be boring if your expecting BRP type scenario and roads. But I enjoy incorporating parts as part of another ride.

History ... Native American, US, Natural ... lots of stops.

Watch your gas ... services are far and few between and/or off Trace a ways.
