We were able to make this restaurant and man what a great suggestion, thanks Sierra977, Every thing on the menu looked great, we had the special that day which was a roast beef sandwich and a appetizer the Bacon Wrapped Crab Stuffed Jalapenos.
Fort Davis was a really nice ride around the park and the observatory is cool too, Thanks Hell hound! Also we tried breakfast at a little Mexican food restaurant called Lupita's Place, rite off the main drag in Fort Davis, it was very good.
Also, Mando's in Marfa has a very good breakfast, i will stop in again if ever back in the area, huge breakfast burritos! Its on the West end of town on 90 (thanks google)
It was really cool going somewhere i had never been, yet having a hand full of great tips from y'all's experiences, thanks for sharing!
4 of us do Big Bend every mid October. 3 days, 2 nights, and we always stay at the Hampton in Alpine. They lets us park our bikes under the entry canopy, classes up the place. It's pretty much centralized for all the riding. 2 years ago we did it during a heat spell, was mid 90's. Last year was on the cold side. Up at the Mcdonald Observatory it was 36. If your coming down to Texas in the decent riding months, besides big bend, put the 3 twisted sisters on your list.

Unfortunately, never made it to Big Bend in 2018. Went on an Axis hunt and then to Nashville for CMA Fest. So, gonna try Mar 2022. Any recommendations that may have changed..

If you are taking your wife or gf, I would recommend the Gage hotel.
Good timing. I am planning next years ride the third week of April to the Hill Country, Big Bend, Tombstone, Rt 66 and Grand Canyon. Hope to see the blue bonnets blooming.
