Just got back from riding BRP/Skyline from Cherokee to Front Royal. Roads are great. No construction. We were there when the hurricane came through and there were no problems. Slow, sometimes aggravating ride though due to the 25mph'ers that won't pull off, so pack some patience. It was beautiful up there though.
Yeah , should have been more specific, heading to Front Royal, skyline dr areas
Winchester is just a few miles up the road from Front Royal and a nice, historic town with tons of restaurants and bars and a cool downtown walking mall. How far are you riding south on Skyline Drive?

Another good ride is take 55 west from Front Royal, continue to 48 west to 220 S then take 33 east to Harrisonburg, another nice town about 60 miles south of Winchester and then head back either using secondary roads or I81. You can even pick up Skyline going N. This would be a full day of riding!
