On your way to ride the Dragon. FootHills parkway between Townsend and Wear valley . The missing Link bridge is finished and open after 52 years. Don't miss it.

Will be doing a cross country trip next summer (2020). Definitely going to ride the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Tail is a bit out of the way, but will probably work it in.

I have waited a long time to see it finished. From what I have been told the view is among the best.

We generally ride the Dragon every spring just to get a long weekend and some ride time after a cold nasty winter. It's nothing special just 11 miles of bad road with 318 curves. Pay attention prepare for the curves and switchbacks and you'll enjoy the ride. What ever you do ride your own ride don't let anyone push you.

Lodging Suggestions

Wife & I will be staying in Ashville TN for about a week, and we'd like to ride from there down to the Dragon area, do some riding, stay the night, and ride back up to TN. Can anyone suggest a place to stay? Route suggestions from there would be appreciated too, although I've gotten LOTS of great ideas from the posts above! Thanks!
