Same old story ... all are "in" at the beginning ... then they start dropping like flies ... I count those going as we are leaving the restaurant after breakfast on the date arranged

We started as 6 on our trip,4 actually went and if I were you I'd be hoping for half of the 12 to drop out. There will be long delays for every gas,****,and get something to eat & drink stops.
I just got back from a trip with two fellow riders.
Originally it was a two person ride (I got invited to tag along).
We had some weather hiccups that changed plans, but it turned out.
I think the biggest pit fall on any group ride is to many captains/chiefs (what ever you want to call them).
I will only go long distance with one or two other bikes. More than that and it gets to be a cluster. It's hard to find distance capable riders. The trip out to CO we flew the wives to eliminate extra stops across the plains where all we wanted to do was make time.
Did a 6 person trip down to the Dragon last year. Was like trying to herd cats......
Best advice I can give you is if there is any outsiders or friend of a friend types coming along best to tell them to stay home. Unless its close personal friends that I trust and are confident in their riding capabilities I wont do another.
