Getting ready to head east in about 10 days. Leaving Cleveland and heading to Maine, then up the Maine coast into Quebec, through Quebec to Ontario, then across Ontario to Michigan and back to Ohio. Should be a great trip. Any thoughts or recommendations about the area would be great. Plan on returning next year to do the Cabot Trail.
Go to madawaska maine. , 1 of the four corners in the us , the most northern point in the us . There is a small park there with the marker that you can ride the bike in front of it for a GREAT PIC . The last time I went to canada they broke my ***** at the crossing , made me go inside and then wait another hr . They finally let me in , I was on a 08 ultra with luggage tied on and my wife on the back . MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A CURRENT PASSPORT !!! Canada will never see me again !!!
If you have never been on the Maine coast you may be disappointed from expectations , traveling Rt 1 up the coast doesn,t give much of a view of the ocean, so I recommend you decide what beach areas you would like to visit and make your way to each one off RT 1. Old Orchard Beach/ Boothbay/ Rockport/and Bar Harbor would be suggested stops, of course you need to leave RT 1 to see these. Also visiting Madawaske to the 4 points park is a must if you are crossing near there, and if you have the time ,if your planned rt takes you to 132 in Quebec area I suggest taking ferry across from Rivier de Loop to St Simeon and go north to Tudoussac to see the Whales , then head south to Quebec City on that side of the St Lawrence[you won,t be disappointed .I could suggest many stops in Maine, but not sure of your time constraints or Itinerary .
I,m leaving on the 24th and rt consist of 95 through Maine[Bangor 1st night] cross border in Houlton, make way to Campbellton NB [2nd night] then travel around the Gaspe Peninsula , head back south into Maine and spend 3 days in Acadia Bar Harbor area leaving for home on Labor Day

Nice view of the Maine coast off route 1 is Mt Battie in Camden Hills State Park. Acadia National Park is a nice area also but youd kill a lot of time riding out to there.
